People really need to understand that girls DO PLAY GAMES! sesh. Many of the people I've met playing guildwars is just too unreal. They always say, Girls DON'T PLAY ONLINE GAMES!! well you know what... FACE THE TRUTH!! Not all girls are like that. I'm a girl myself with 2 other sisters who play this game. And we use different accounts. And most of the time in the game, its more like, "Oh, girls never play games. All they want to do is waste your money" -_____-'' That is certainly not true. People should stop sterotyping other females. Face the cold hard fact. GIRLS DO PLAY GAMES!!

It may not seem likely, but its true. Guys need to learn that. And not judge from one girl, to the rest of the world.

Yeah, I really don't think there's many people who believe girls don't play games. Considering the amount of female members we have here at GWG..

I agree. Girls do play games and this is probably more so in MMORPGs (Ultima, Everquest, WoW) and CORPGs (Guild Wars) than any other genre.

However, it's probably safe to assume that the majority of gamers are male. It annoys me when some players assume that when you role-play a character of an opposite gender to you that you've got some identity crisis problem. To those people I recommend you get a dictionary and read the definition for "role-play" which incidentally happens to be what the first two letters in RPG stand for!

Anyway back to the original topic, there are a lot of ignorant people in this world so don't take them too seriously.

theres lots of girls that play lots of games...
In our guild theres about 12 or so girls in a guild of 85. now there could be more but those 12 are the ones we know for sure. 2 of those girls are hot gothic girls..... So please people realise that the old *only boys play game* thing is only a myth.

Nice, I've seen you around before Forbidden Angel. Never knew you were a member here. I am a girl myself and occasionally play games. But i prefer online games because of the social interaction. Although nothing tops the Sims. I just love decorating!

And that's how we sterotype girls accidently lol. Because the truth is the majority of women are social players. And the decorating? That's a sterotype that's been going on since the dawn of the human race...

Most girls wanna decorate and talk with each other.

Guess which category is catered to more in the gaming industry?

But there are always the select few. i personally know a few women who also like to blow stuff up lol but then go home and gossip with their friends.. it's strange to see, bu it happens. we are all diverse and different. you can't generalize even for 2 people. not even twins are exactly the same.

Agreed. I just meant that the percentages can be either fairly equal to very skewed depending on genre - so those who have mostly played in a specific genre skewed one way and then transfer over to another that isn't, they might sometimes be truthfully surprised at the difference.

Hmm, I actually enjoy the sims for awhile.

Until I play a few hours and then it just gets boring after you have worked your ass off for every best piece of furniture, electronic, etc. there is haha ^_^.

Well now I haven't played Sims for almost a year and I don't even have it on my computer.

I think if someone puts it in my computer somehow I'd have to go at it a few hours ^_^!

Back to the topic, I know some girls that play games. I play CS and in the server I usually play in theres always 1 or 2 girls.

Whoever says girls don't play games are weird.

I'm a guy. I LOVE to blow things up.. blow up nice and good..(intentional grammar mistake) but i loved playing sims.. it was fun..lol especially the part where I found the cheat to move any item at any time, then removed the shower while somebody was showering(don't worry they bleeped it out, it was just funny).. or when you had them swimming in the pool, then move cheat, move them on the sidewalk, and they start swimming down the street.(in the street..).. does this make me wierd..? lol.. I still decorated the house if that makes you feel better..

A signifant portion of NWN players were females(around 25-30%). A lot of girls(including my girlfriend) play EQ/EQ2. GW isnt a classical rpg...so I dont see many girls out here.

I played the Sims for about 2 months...that was all I could stand.
I prefer city-builders/strategy or stuf like RollerCoasterTycoon for the non-rpg gaming sessions.

lol.. i guess we always try to find the aspects of the game that WE WANT in it. for the guys, they play sims or roller coaster tycoon( btw, i also killed so many peopl in horrible accidents, or popped the little kids baloon to see them cry) and most girls try to socialize maybe..? am i wrong?

i believe his avatar is final fantasy.. VIII... I am probably wrong..
